Love this place. Spaghetti bolognese is fantastic! Brussel sprouts and pancetta is perfect. Can't wait to come back!

I've eaten here twice...once in the first week they were open (really great food & Wonderful service!) and the second time tonight. We ordered take out and I have to say I had one of the best salads I've ever had! The Chicken Gorgonzola is fabulous!!! Fresh, flavorful and a perfect blend of greens, fruit, cheese, nuts and grilled Chicken! And a pleasant surprise of thyme! This place has my vote for several repeat visits!!!

I have visited this restaurant 2 times. The style of the food and environment immediately reminded me of, now closed restaurant called Pasta Pomodora or Pasta "P". Our first visit to Babbo was not a good experience. It was no busy the evening that we went in; fairly quiet We were seated within 20 minutes. One thing that I kind of expect from a nice restaurant like this was to have a bit more attentive service than we received. I believe that water and bread, such Italian restaurant like this, should be brought to the table right away. Our server, a female, did not seem like she was all there attention wise. During our visit we asked the serve for fresh ground pepper. She brought out the pepper grinder and we wanted the pepper grounded to a very coarse. She told me that the pepper grinder did not do that. I could tell by looking at the pepper grinder that it was adjustable. I hate to say that she was a bit ditzy.

I've frequented Babbo's when first introduced over a year ago and I have to say, it's been nothing but GREAT! The service is excellent and the Chicken Chipotle Pasta is awesome! I'd recommend this place to everyone looking for great Italian!

Decent pizza but over priced. Girl at the bar counting money was not friendly. Patio misting system doesn't work and they won't allow small dogs out there.

Excellent service! We sat at the bar and order dinner and drinks the bartender was great he remember everyone's name and made it an enjoyable time.

We had dinner a couple friends. The overall experience was great. The server did a fantastic job. The food was pretty good. Look forward to coming back and try something else. I had the 3 cheese mac and cheese. The sausage had just enough kick to make the dish really good. I only have 1 complaint. We wanted to sit outside and the hostess said they only have 1 waiter for out there and they could not handle another table. There was plenty of seating. Maybe just a suggestion move another waiter. Spit the tables and or do someone 2 outside tables and 2 inside. The manager or whomever she was came by our table a few times to make sure everything was okay and to see if we needed anything.

Great place and friendly service. They know your name and strike up easy conversations. The food is great every time. It's an awesome substitute versus making dinner as we are a busy family and travel a lot. They always come through.

Recently went to this restaurant because of a recommendation from friends. The service was wonderful, but the food was not. The complimentary bread was under cooked and our appetizer was alright. My entree was not good, I ordered a salad. I would not recommend this restaurant to others.

I'd like to give 3.5 stars. It's nice to have a place you can walk to. Food is above average but still tastes like it was missing something. We will be back for sure.

I wanted to like this place because it was just a block away from my home. I have to say the taste qualty is below average. Compare to Olive Garden, the flavor at OG is much tasty. I ordered the shrimp pasta dish for 13.99 and it was awful. i been to a lot of italian resturant places but this is one of the worst tasting. not sure about the other items but the one i had was bad. the shrimp looked and tasted like the cheap frozen food. The taste was awful. not much flavor. They seriously need to get a better chef. I just wanted to share my experience. Not sure if I'll be going back there.

Disappointed with your customer service tonight. Heard about your $25 for $25 gift card purchase just today, went by on my way home from an appointment, walked in and asked about the gift card. Manager looked at me, then looked at her watch and said, I'm sorry, it's 9:02, we closed at 9, so sorry. Really? You said no for 2 minutes? Pretty sure your door wasn't locked and the place was still very busy with people. I understand if I came in at 9:30 or even 9:15! But 2 minutes? Really? I had only been to your restaurant once and actually really enjoyed everything about it. But customer service is everything and I'm just really disappointed.

I am going to upgrade my rating because Babbo had the balls (meatballs) to step up to the plate, (sorry)! And comp me for my disaster of a meal. They were apologetic, humble and genuinely cared about my experience being positive and delicious! Well, I now love their salads, delicious bread , served with balsamic and olive oil. Their pizza is cheesy, with generous meatballs and basil garnish, couldn't eat it all! I have gone back 10 more times and will absolutely recommend it because of the friendly, caring, staff, great drinks and good service!!! This restaurant has character, owned their mistakes and didn't shirk from making it right!!!! Thank you and I appreciate that!

Great new place in the neighborhood! Nice atmosphere, great, friendly service, and really good food! My husband ordered a pizza and when the server brought it out, the server actually said the pizza wasn't up to their standards (looked fine to us) and that they were making another one, and they let us keep both! We'll be back! :)

First off, I am really happy that more restaurants are opening in Queen Creek and allowing something other than fast-food as our dining out options. Next, I have visited Babbo's twice in the past month. The first time was to try it out with my family of 4, including myself, my husband and my 9 year old and 5 year old kids. The service was on and we never went without bread, drinks, food or a smile! We all had different pasta dishes, appetizers and the most wonderful tiramisu I have had in Arizona! The second visit was when I hosted my sister's bridal shower at Babbo's. This was such a wonderful event from the beginning to the end. Danielle took great care to help plan the menu and arrange for the seating outside for 30 people. We customized the menu to fit everyone and the wait staff was amazing as people trickled in, making sure they all had drinks and were comfortable. The food came out a perfect times, we had nice cold salads and wonderful steaming hot main dishes. We were seated out on the patio and were lucky enough to have great weather! Everyone had a great time, enjoyed the food and service. I can't thank the team enough for making the day such a success.

We have been there twice. Both times the food took forever and came out cold. The service was bad and the food wasn't good. We were excited to see another new restaurant in our area but left very disappointed. I will not be back. The only good thing was the bread they bring to the table.

Amazing food and great atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. We won't go anywhere else for Italian food!

We love this place! The service was phenomenal! The pasta and bread was very very good. It can get busy so we make reservations and usually get right in.

We enjoy coming to Babbo's for the salads and spaghetti special on Monday's and Tuesday's. The meatballs are very tasty and large. The sauce has good Italian flavors. We especially love the bread and olive oil for dipping. They also have great happy hour specials. Our server made a great wine suggestion and gave me several to try before ordering. That is good service!

Not sure what the story is with this place but the food tasted as if it was just popped out of a can and heated up. Nothing flavorful or even remote to real Italian food that I found. First and last chance for this place..............Great service however !!!

Update - I reached out as requested in Babbo's response to my original review twice now, and have not heard back from them. as of 4/1 I still have not heard back from them!

Didn't even know this place was here until we got a coupon. Used to be Barro's Pizza. So, coupon in hand, we decided to visit. The host/hostess desk at the door was unattended, but someone came over relatively quickly once we were noticed. They brought bread with oil very quickly. The bread was nice. Rosemary and probably some light garlic. I liked it. They have a diverse menu, including some items that aren't really Italian (such as the mac and cheese and a "cajun" dish). We both stuck with actual Italian dishes. I had the manicotti with sausage ragu, and my wife had chicken limone. There was a strong caper flavor in chicken limone. But overall my wife really liked it. The sausage ragu was too strong for the manicotti. The manicotti has a delicate cheese filing, and then a very strong Italian sausage ragu sauce that simply overwhelmed it. Both were good, but they didn't really play well together. I ate some of the manicotti deliberately avoiding the sausage pieces so I could taste the manicotti. I think it would be better with a simple (mild) marinara. Potion size was reasonable. Service was adequate. Not very attentive but when the server was at the table he was not hurried and very helpful discussing the menu. I might want to try happy hour, but very limited time (ends at 6pm, only weekdays). We may come back. It's not exactly a mom & pop shop. There are a few locations in town. But it's not a national chain, and I regard that as a positive. I have to stop short of four stars here, but I would say they are above average. Give them 3.5 stars, solidly.

The service was great and friendly. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Gorgonzola Pizza and it was delicious and full of flavor. Definitely will come back for more!

Just came here for lunch with my boyfriends mother and grandmother. We were seated right away even though they seemed a little busy. Our server was Alyse, she was very knowledgeable about the menu and very sweet. They have a lunch combo, pizza and salad or pasta and salad. I think it's only about 9 dollars which is a good deal. I didn't finish all of my food because it filled me up. We finished our meal off with tiramisu which they make in-house. It was really yummy. We will definitely be coming here again! They also do take out which is very convenient.

We went here for the first time on a Friday night and it was very busy! They estimated a 40 minute wait for just the two of us. They wait wouldn't have been so bad but they just don't have a big enough indoor waiting area to accommodate the wait list. There was no where to sit and it was too hot to wait outside. Being very pregnant I can't stand very long, and the hostess didn't offer to get me a seat despite me feeling light headed from being on me feet, luckily a nice man at the bar let me have his chair. People were scattered around the dining room which made it look crowded and unprofessional. The food was just okay, nothing to be excited about. And they said we couldn't put a high chair at the end of the booth because of "fire hazard" which is bogus because we've never had a problem doing that at ANY other restaurant we've been to. My drink wasn't filled up once the whole time we were eating and just for that alone I can't say anything nice about the service. We'd be willing to give this place a second chance, but that's it.

The food here is amazing. Everything is fresh and delicious. The service has always been friendly. We usually go for lunch, but decided to stop for dinner on a Thursday night. In August. In Arizona. If I could recommend one thing to the owners it would be to install misters outside on the patio. You could double your dinner sales seeing as the patio is about as big as the inside. Even though you have those great curtains to block a lot of the sun, it's still too freaking hot to eat outside in the summer in Arizona. We saw many people walk away after being told there was a 45 minute wait. That is money walking away from your establishment. Back to the food. We've eaten pasta, pizza, and salads. My favorites include anything with brussel sprouts. Their salads are vegetarian with the ability to add protein of your choice. The servers we had in the past were knowledgeable about the menu and preparation of dishes.

My husband and I were so excited to try out Babbo's new Queen Creek location. The location is prime being right off Queen Creek Road and the interior is very nice. It has a clean and modern feel. There is a fully stocked bar and booths for groups. I got a pomegranate mojito and it was very good. They even have Peroni on tap! The service was excellent - extremely friendly and extremely quick. The incredibly quick service was nice but I would request they slow down and make some changes to their recipes. It may take a little bit longer but the time it takes to dice up some fresh tomatoes vs. throwing cold canned tomatoes on bread could be the difference between a repeat customer and disappointed visitor. Appetizer of Bruschetta Combo. We ordered the Pesto Fresh Mozzarella, Chopped Pomodoro, and Roma Tomatoes. Nice crusty bread but canned mushy tomatoes with very little seasoning. I think the chef must have forgotten to drain the can because my bread was saturated - inedible. Even the mozzarella slices were hard vs soft. Bummer because it sounded really good on the menu. Main Course: Pomodoro Tomato Pasta and Pasta Rustico. I hate writing this because they really were very, very nice but the Pomodoro Tomato had no sauce, the same canned tomatoes, not nearly enough salt or seasoning and was absolutely drenched in oil. I was able to drain the oil out and take some of the extra sauce from my Pasta Rustico to make it somewhat okay. My husband was getting really hungry by this point so I was ready to be creative. The Pasta Rustico was good. They described it as "Lasagna in a bowl." and they were right. Full of sauce, cheese, spinach, and penne pasta. I was able to fill my belly and have some left over to bring home. Unfortunately, I would only go back if I heard there was a revamp of the old recipes and a new chef. The manager, Ryan, could not have been more accommodating and friendly. If this review were based on his customer service - 5 stars, hands down. However, the food has got to improve so that this restaurant can be all that the staff and the beautiful ambiance have set it up to be.

The spaghetti and meatballs was outstanding and the fresh bread was definitely a hit at our table.

  • Patty O.

They overcook their pasta, but the rest is pretty good. I'd give 5 stars if the pasta wasn't on the mushy side. The $5 or $6 spaghetti and meatballs on Monday fills the place. It sure gets me in there. But cook the pasta a minute less, guys.

My wife and I arrived on a Wednesday night in late May about 6:20 and had a wait of about five minutes before being seated inside. At that point we were seated at a table right next to the kitchen and next to the main walkway where the servers come and go from the kitchen. It was very loud with kitchen noise and very distracting. So we asked to be moved and thankfully we were. But it begs the question: why seat someone at that table if the restaurant is not completely full? The hostess (or management) needs to improve on seating arrangements. Our waiter's attentiveness was just so-so throughout the night. He was average at best with his demeanor, timeliness and courteousness. Given the prices, I expected higher quality of wait staff. We had the toasted ravioli with meat sauce and sausage ragu as an appetizer. It was about $9 for five ravioli which seemed pricey. Would it hurt to drop the price a buck or two? Or add a couple more ravioli? At the very least they could make it an even number for easier sharing. The complimentary bread and dipping sauce were very tasty and soft. And it was useful that the bread was pre-cut and easy for sharing and dipping. Our entrees arrived quickly, especially for what was considered a busy night (even for a Wednesday). I had the three cheese mac-n-cheese and my wife had a past alfredo dish. My mac-n-cheese should come with sausage and bacon and have spice to it according to the menu. Our server told us it was a house specialty. When it arrived I could not find any bacon on it. I asked the waiter who looked very carefully and pointed out two fingernail size pieces of bacon. He seemed ok with that minimal amount but I sarcastically chuckled and he offered to bring me more bacon pieces to add to it. My wife thought her dish was just ok. She thought Olive Garden provided a comparable or better dish in terms of flavor and quality. We were never offered a desert menu. And there was never any mention of desert. Because of the close seating arrangements, we easily noticed two different tables around us who were offered desert by their wait staff. This is an unfortunate inconsistency because we very likely would have ordered desert on this night out without kids. Overall our food quality was average and nothing exceptional. I think the conclusion here is that if you set the prices higher, as Baboo has done, then the expectations certainly rise. In our case, expectations did not match prices and expectations were not met. We may try it again if we have a coupon because it is so close to where we live. But it will need to show improvement in a variety of areas for us to become repeat customers.

I was excited to try this place because I love Italian food and its so close to where I live. I was excited to have a new staple place to eat. And then I went there and was really disappointed. My 12 year old niece could have made a better pasta. I wasn't sure if they had just forgotten to add the sauce?? But I wasn't the only one at my table who ordered a pasta dish, and I thought...They couldn't have forgotten two different sauces on two different pastas, right?! But maybe that's just the way serve their pasta?? I hope not, because it was pretty bad. My dinner that night was just cooked pasta( two thumbs down). The only reason I give this restaurant a 2 is because their complimentary bread was FANTASTIC! Honestly, if it weren't for their bread, I wouldn't even consider going back. Maybe next time(if there is a next time) I'll have to try something other than their pasta.

Well if you ever looked for a decent polace to eat at Queen Creek and Powere you know there not much. I always said who ever puts in a decnt restaurant that does no overprice the menu will be flooded with diners, Well Babbo's fits that description to a T. It has a great selection but dont look for thos meals you would normally find at the Italian place you normall go to. The menu has a great selection you just have to give each one a try. Overall the food and drink is good. The big issue is some of their policies and wait times. Like I said there's really not a whole lot of choices here so wait times can get to be over an hour. If your going to go, go early or late as the dinner hours are mobbed. Now's here's my complaint. If you have 6 or more people in your party you can make reservations. If you don't then you have to show up or call 30 minutes before to get on the list. I personally called and was told by Brandon ( yes I asked who I was talikg to yes Pete your on the list. Upon arrival at 6:00 P.M. and on time I had to wait because Brandon mysteriously never put me on the list. after 40 minutes we were seated (4 of us) ordered a few thing and continued to wait for our item. Even though I sat just 10 feet from the bar it to at 30 minutes to get a beer. This paragraph is why they got a 3 instead of a 5 +++++ rating. The servers are great try to do what they can to make you happy but the wait and the lack of reservation and a list policy just makes no sense.

This joint openned three weeks ago. We stopped in for lunch today. The food was good. The service was excellent. I didn't feel all bloated afterwards. I ate the meatball sandwich with zucchini chips. It was good. We sat outside in the front area. Maybe if others were also outside, I wouldn't have felt like I was sitting in the parking lot.

  • Adam S.

Babbo, founded by a local real chef, is so far beyond the hole in the wall Italian joint found in American suburbia. The flavor and ingredient combinations are simply more complex. Try them, you'll be shocked that their actually in Queen Creek.

OK, so my husband and i gave them a 2nd chance. The service was 100x's better and the food was good but not memorable. I had the Roasted Brussel sprouts with pancetta in a garlic lemon light sauce with fettuccine pasta. I sent back the first plate they sent me. The Brussel Sprouts were not cooked all the way thru and def not my definition of roasted it seemed more like boiled. The 2nd plate i got the sprouts were cooked all the way thru but the pasta was over cooked and chewy. At that point i was just hungry i just ate. My husband didn't rave about his dinner only means it was meh. So, honestly I think will just have to hold out till QC gets a new Italian restaurant or bistro.

Very cute atmosphere. Lots of menu options. But for the price, I got a bowl of watery pasta with cold grids chicken. We must have said something wrong because the waitress went from nice to really rude. I'm giving it two stars for the patio, the decor, etc. But will not be returning. I can make an overcooked bowl of paste at home for $2 vs $13 here.

I was very excited to have a new restaurant so close to home, and an Italian one specifically! The place is very cute and I like the decor a lot. I have been here three times and have tried three different things, everyone on their menu looks delicious. It's not typical Italian food and I love that! The Three Cheese Mac and Cheese, and the Chicken Alfredo Pizza with Buffalo sauce are my favorites! My biggest compliant of this restaurant is their wait times and service upon waiting! Each time I've been very frustrated with watching the hostess seat people who arrived after us; the main impression I get is that if you ask again and again how long the wait- they'll seat you paying no attention to their list of names! I do not get the impression that the hostesses have had appropriate training because of how unprofessional and unfair their "system" plays out each time. We were told a 30 minute wait, and waited for 55 and on top of it watched three parties get seated before us. In the future I will be ordering to go.

Tried this place for lunch. It was really good! Got the pasta lunch special with a salad. The service was great! Really love the bread they bring out before the meal! This place is a favorite!!!

  • Tara Z.

We love this restaurant. The pasta dishes were tasty and priced appropriately. The wait was reasonable (15 minutes) and the hostess was accurate. Many times at other restaurants you are always waiting over the amount of time stated. Both of my kids enjoyed their food and our waitress was prompt and friendly. We will definitely go back.

Tried an order to go. Have eaten inside 2 times before and again the service was very good. Had the Monday special of spaghetti. Generous portions and tasty. Only problem is comparison to Olive Garden. Close to same pricing but give Olive Garden the edge on taste. Also Olive Garden specials give them the edge.

So glad we have something else to choose from in queen creek. Nice atmosphere, the service was very good. The food was good to great but nothing off the charts for me. My wife and I split a chicken caesar salad and the 4 cheese mac and cheese with sausage I think. The salad was good but they chopped up the chicken really small. I got hooked on carrabas Caesar. By far the best Cesar I have ever had. The Mac n cheese looked a little underwhelming at first but it ended up tasting great. The sausage is very spicy which I liked. Without the sausage it would not have been anything special . I'll go back and try some other dishes.

Really cute place, super fast service on carry out. The flavor was just ok...it could use some fine tuning. Very nice staff. They have great specials. It is a nice change from Barros. I will try it again.

Came here for an early dinner with my husband. They have amazing bread! The side salad was a little skimpy.... The portions on the food was huge! We had Alex as our waiter and he was perfect!!! He asked the right amount of questions and was very professional and prompt. Will definitely come back and ask him for our server

  • Don P.

Despite the bottom on my sandwich being a bit burnt it was still excellent. The food did not all come out at the same time but still was hot and excellent tasting. I can overlook the two small shortcomings above because the server was friendly and very good. Definitely worth eating here. And try the Italian soda. We will be back.

  • Mimi C.

Very cute restaurant. The arugula salad was nice and fresh. The Brussel Sprout pizza would have been better with more Brussel sprouts. Had an epicenter Amber Ale that was delish. The decorum was tasteful, I didn't think it was terribly pricey as some of the previous reviews. The deserts did not seem right, although we didn't try them. A true zeppoli would never have ice cream and whipped cream and cinnamon.

This place is very close to my home, my Husband & I just had dinner here.... IT WAS SO GOOD! the spagetti & meatbslls is very yummy. Nice trendy atmosphere, amazing staff & customer service & very hoping neighborhood place. We will definitely be coming here again.

All I can say! Off the chain! Had the 3 cheese Mac and cheese wow! Very tasty with the bacon chunks in there as well as the sausage. Also ordered a pizza ....sausage and pep very good crust was tasty and good sauce. Yes mister.

  • Stacey R.

The pasta dishes that we had were very good! We will be back to try it again.... Big negative is the wait time during busy hours, usually up to 1.5 hrs... I will go during non-peak time but not worth the long wait.

Love this place! Great food and fun atmosphere. Gluten free pasta means the menu is wide open if you've got a wheat allergy. Love this place!

  • Kerry L.

Overpriced for the quality of the food and if you want meat in your meal, it's $5 extra! We ordered spaghetti and meatballs, Pasta Rustico (don't expect anything more than traces of ricotta in this dish...), Italian sausage pasta, and Pasta Primavera. Honestly, it was difficult finding something to pick because none of the flavor combinations sounded appealing. Everyone's food was not that great. Everything tasted weird. I can't cook Italian food and I can make better Italian food than that. The bread and oil was alright. The service was so so. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because whoever they hired to design and decorate the restaurant did a great job.

First time here and I will definitely be coming back! Awesome service from Patrick, thank you! Came for a birthday dinner date with a close friend. We shared the Firecracker Rolls (italian and buffalo chicken) the Italian were my personal favorite! Mista salad is hands down the best salad, side or otherwise, that I've ever had...ever! Bianca pizza, simple yet oh so flavorful and Pasta Primavera had the perfect amount of veggies and was very light and tasty. Brought a calzone home for my hubby and it was huge! He said it's the best calzone he's ever had! They have very reasonable prices for the quality of food! I especially love that they offer local craft beers plus a great selection of wine and cocktails. Can't wait to come back and try more!

  • Jason F.

went here on a whim right after they opened, not expecting much. I have to say, the food is really good and the servers are really nice. Been here 3 times now. Tried a spicy sausage dish, a chicken and grilled veggie dish and the adult mac n cheese. The adult mac n cheese was a bit too rich for me but overall, the food was quite good. The only real complaint I have is that the open setting with the view of kitchen combined with the busyness of the place makes it pretty noisy. But, it will be on my regular visit place, just not at peak times.

This place is awesome. We eat here all the time. The service is always impeccable. They have toys for the kids to play with instead of coloring books - they like it so much. The house Cabernet wine is fantastic. Highly recommend it!

  • Karla M.

The food at this restaurant was outstanding! The service was just as great. I ordered a pasta concoction that I never tried before and it was amazing. The menu has a vast assortment of pastas, like 20 or so. There are pizzas, calzones, salads and the drinks and desserts are so good as well. If you go, make sure and call ahead and put your name on the list. There is a wait almost every night.

I am so excited to have a good restaurant near by. I am also excited the food that we ate was excellent. The bread was fresh the olive was of good quality. The sandwiches we loved and the tiramisu....I could eat more. The reason for 1 less star was we called our order in for take out. My husband and I were going on a picnic for Valentines Day. My husband picked up the order. When we opened the bag there wasn't silverware or napkins. I guess he should have checked but I would hope that would be standard for takeout. We were able to eat our sandwiches and luckily I had baby wipes in the car but we had to bring home the tiramisu to eat later. Just a little frustrating but so yummy. I can't wait to go back.

All I can say is WOW. Such a pleasant surprise to have such a nice restaurant right here in the neighborhood. I was very shocked how nicely they renovated the old space. I went at 5pm and the place was packed. After ordering our food I found out why. My son had a calzone that took 3 days to eat and arguably the best we have ever had. The vodka pasta with chicken was fantastic and my wife had the pomodoro pasta and it was very light and refreshing. Happy Hour specials were offered in the dining room which was also a nice touch. We can't wait to go back.

Happy to try this new place. Food wad good. Service was good. Waiting for food was a bit slow. A bit expensive for what you get.

We went there for lunch for the first time today... I loved the decor and everything was cleaned inside the restaurant.. .. my friend and I have been working in the restaurant industry for several years so we are always giving more chance than most people. The service was great, the server brought a box filled with toys for my friend's daughter because she was kinda cranky and was really nice to us. Unfortunately the manager made us feel bad the entire time we were there. She keeps staring at us like we could not eat and leave fast enough for her .... I dont think I ever felt that bad in my entire life. I dont think I will go back because of her. Too bad because the food was good and its close to home.

They emailed me to say how sorry they were, they offered me a return with a "on Us" statement. They seem not to want to respond to my latest emails so it seems that they have pulled the offer from the table, Indian givers.

Not very impressed. Service average and slow. Dinner's do not come with salad. Side salad expensive and very small. Over all food is bland.

We needed something different for Italian in Queen Creek. Anything but Olive Garden please. Italian is one of the few things all of my family can agree on for just about any meal. Kids love the calzone's and the bruschetta. Wife loves almost all of the pasta's. I enjoy the spicy dishes, they are a good take on italian with a different flavor.

I have 1 issue. Every table has a placard advertising happy hour and the prices. It clearly states happy hour menu is available only at the bar and patio seating. So, why put the placards on every table? Oh, because they offer the prices at all tables! No one tells you this, I asked about it. Otherwise, the food and service was excellent. Get there early if you don't want to wait!

5 stars!! Big menu. .not typical Italian fare and I'm from an Italian area back east....Server Alex was fantastic patient and replaced the spicy Alfredo because it was too spicy for me.....the sauce is good not excellent the bread was phenomenal as was the bolognese....I'll be back just to have excellent service. .it was packed house too....

Very nice atmosphere! You would never know it was previously a Barro's. The appetizer bread was delicious. We had a pizza and mista side salad- both were great! I will definitely go back.

I had the steak and lime salad at the Queen Creek location. SUPER fast -so fast I was worried it was premade! Of course not-the steak was cooked to perfection and hot, the salad crisp and really cold. Ashley was my server and she was great. No complaints-I like the style and cleanliness of the restaurant. Oh-and free bread with oil and vinegar. YUM.

Great addition to the neighborhood - lunch specials and happy hour. Love the pasta dishes, salads, and pizza. Rarely, do I have difficulty choosing what to eat when dining out, but here, there are to many choices that appeal to me.

Very good food and reasonable prices. We love the 3 cheese mac and cheese that has a little kick with the spicy sausage flavor. Pizza good. Great selection of bruschetta appetizers.

Fresh, different Italian.....there's a reason the wait is long on Friday and Saturday nights. If you like spicy, the Spicy Alfredo with Italian Sausage is fantastic! Creamy mushroom and asparagus pasta and the Mac and Cheese for adults are great, too. Service has been friendly and prompt. Great outdoor seating! We keep going back.

I am not a big fan of Italian food but we were driving around running errands and hungry and spotted the place. Seated immediately and given bread which I understand is baked on the premises and tastes great. We had the flank steak and Italian sandwiches which were good. I got a Caesar salad also good. Priced fair. Server very polite. Manager came by and checked on us. As I read other reviews from 1 to 5 I have to give the place a "5" as it is good as it gets. No negatives with our experience.

We welcome Babbo's to the neighborhood, a much needed amenity out here in SE Gilbert. I have read all the reviews posted and would like to make a couple of comments. Babbo's just opened the 1st week in March. They were well received given the fact that there is not much in our corridor in the way of eateries out here, and during the height of Spring Training with all of our wonderful winter residents here in full force. We saw that the waits were long and chose other times to go. We learned by going to another Babbo's location for the last 2 years, that the very best time to go is during Happy Hour, the earlier the better. We often just eat from the Happy Hour Menu and enjoy the "small" portion because we don't like leftovers. The Stuffed Portabella Mushroom is wonderful and will feed 2 unless you are really hungry. Sometimes I prefer to order the Grilled Asparagus plate. It comes with a small Mista salad on the plate. I ask for a side order of sautéed mushrooms and I am more than satisfied..... For those of you who had such a terrible experience because of the wait times I think that you will find that now and through the summer will be a wonderful time to give it that second chance.

A really good place......if you know zero about really good Italian food. Prices are very reasonable for their food. If you drink, the price are a rip off for cocktails and reasonable for wine by the bottle or glass. We arrived at 6:30 pm on a Friday night. We were told the wait was 15 minutes, in reality it was 45. Atmosphere is like an upscale Italian Denny's. Servers are friendly, young, and don't know the difference between Penne and Linguine. The spicy Italian sausage is Very spicy. I'd give it a 6 out of 10. But again, if you really don't have a clue what real Italian is you'll love it. Right up there with Olive Garden, no bread sticks.

What a pleasant surprise! We may have found our new local favorite. We received a coupon in the mail for a half price meal with another full entree purchase and decided to try Babbo. We arrived in time for happy hour. We were seated on the patio which was comfortable and well appointed. Our server was very attentive and superb all the way around. I had a delicious glass of Sangria which was one of the best ever. We ordered appetizers, pizza for our sun and two entrees. The food was excellent. Everything we tried was delicious and plentiful. Pricing seemed a tad high but I think meal costs are rising across the industry. Thanks Babbo. You are a breath of fresh air! We will most certainly be back and soon.

OK, bad experience overall, but the manager was sincere. Take one, we were a party of 3 and waited 30 minutes. This was OK until we watched other folks seated ahead of us and an open table directly behind the hostess that sat open for 8 minutes. Took a peak at the list as they were crossing our name off and saw 4 names below ours already crossed off. This was irritating, but we could have let that slide. Take 2, top of our calzone black. Not super bad, but really should not have been served. A little more painful since my other 2 partners were served their food at lead 5-10 minutes before receiving mine. We did ask for their food to be brought out first... and they warned us the calzone would take longer. Pomodoro tomato pasta disk was good, not great. Take 3, Fire Roasted red pepper with wild mushrooms in creamy alfredo sauce. The sauce was more like clam sauce and way watery. Not much taste. Manager did send home a replacement calzone which we were thankful for. Not going back, but hope they get their stuff together. Seem like nice folks.

First off, this review is not about the food, I wasn't able to get that far. The service was terrible. After calling and making a reservation my wife and I attempted to redeem our table. Well there was no reservation. They offered to seat us in 30-45 minutes. They assured me it wouldn't take that long because of tables moving quickly. After 20 minutes, I left, went to Safeway, and picked up a frozen pizza. Very disappointing, and ruined our night.

  • Dena B.

Babbo, founded by a local real chef, is so far beyond the hole in the wall Italian joint found in American suburbia. The flavor and ingredient combinations are simply more complex. Try them, you'll be shocked that their actually in Queen Creek.

Came here for an early dinner with my husband. They have amazing bread! The side salad was a little skimpy.... The portions on the food was huge! We had Alex as our waiter and he was perfect!!! He asked the right amount of questions and was very professional and prompt. Will definitely come back and ask him for our server

  • Stacey R.

The pasta dishes that we had were very good! We will be back to try it again.... Big negative is the wait time during busy hours, usually up to 1.5 hrs... I will go during non-peak time but not worth the long wait.

  • Brooke R.

We have been there twice. Both times the food took forever and came out cold. The service was bad and the food wasn't good. We were excited to see another new restaurant in our area but left very disappointed. I will not be back. The only good thing was the bread they bring to the table.

All I can say! Off the chain! Had the 3 cheese Mac and cheese wow! Very tasty with the bacon chunks in there as well as the sausage. Also ordered a pizza ....sausage and pep very good crust was tasty and good sauce. Yes mister.

Can't wait to come back and try more!

went here on a whim right after they opened, not expecting much.

We can't wait to go back.

We had the Martini Pasta and the meatball sandwich - both were great and had lots of flavor. Great food here.

    (1)

Amazing food and great atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. We won't go anywhere else for Italian food!

All I can say! Off the chain! Had the 3 cheese Mac and cheese wow! Very tasty with the bacon chunks in there as well as the sausage. Also ordered a pizza ....sausage and pep very good crust was tasty and good sauce. Yes mister.

    (5)
  • Stacey R.

The pasta dishes that we had were very good! We will be back to try it again.... Big negative is the wait time during busy hours, usually up to 1.5 hrs... I will go during non-peak time but not worth the long wait.

  • Jason M.

Three cheese Mac n cheese with sausage and bacon is a cheesy spicy taste of heaven for your mouth!

  • Nathaniel H.

  • Nicole H.

They overcook their pasta, but the rest is pretty good. I'd give 5 stars if the pasta wasn't on the mushy side. The $5 or $6 spaghetti and meatballs on Monday fills the place. It sure gets me in there. But cook the pasta a minute less, guys.

Came here for an early dinner with my husband. They have amazing bread! The side salad was a little skimpy.... The portions on the food was huge! We had Alex as our waiter and he was perfect!!! He asked the right amount of questions and was very professional and prompt. Will definitely come back and ask him for our server

We love this place! The service was phenomenal! The pasta and bread was very very good. It can get busy so we make reservations and usually get right in.

I've frequented Babbo's when first introduced over a year ago and I have to say, it's been nothing but GREAT! The service is excellent and the Chicken Chipotle Pasta is awesome! I'd recommend this place to everyone looking for great Italian!

Despite the bottom on my sandwich being a bit burnt it was still excellent. The food did not all come out at the same time but still was hot and excellent tasting.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
